Service Description
Our Computer Skills Training Class gives students the opportunity to build confidence, responsibility, and practical technology skills in a structured and age-appropriate learning environment. Students will learn foundational computer skills such as keyboarding, mouse and trackpad use, file organization, basic troubleshooting, internet safety, word processing, presentations, spreadsheets, email etiquette, and responsible digital citizenship. The class is designed for homeschool students who need guided technology instruction for schoolwork, communication, research, and future academic success. Students will practice following step-by-step instructions, typing accurately, organizing digital work, using common software tools, and understanding how to use technology wisely and safely. This class is beginner-friendly and focuses on practical skills, confidence, careful work habits, online safety, and responsible use of digital tools rather than screen-based entertainment. Possible Topics Covered: - Keyboarding and typing practice - Basic computer navigation - File and folder organization - Google Docs or Microsoft Word - Google Slides or PowerPoint - Basic spreadsheets - Internet research skills - Email basics and etiquette - Online safety and privacy - Password safety - Digital citizenship - Basic troubleshooting Schedule: 1 hour per week Cost: $40/month per child Sibling Discount: $30/month for each additional sibling Drop-in Rate: $12–$15 per class, when space is available Recommended Ages: 3rd–8th grade (grouped by age and ability when possible) Notes: Students may bring their own laptop or use an available device if provided by the program. Parents will be informed in advance if a personal device is required.
